1. Introduction
We’re committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
Usage Data: Representative examples include which pages you visit, features you use, browsing history, and aggregated metrics (e.g., “read time” estimates).
User-Generated Content: Comments and votes you submit through our social layer.
Location Data: Approximate location derived from your IP address or device settings.
Crash Reports & Diagnostics: Error logs and device information to help us improve stability.
Support & Feedback: Any messages or files you send via the in-app feedback form.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information automatically through your use of the browser (page loads, clicks, time on page); via Google Analytics for anonymized site-usage statistics; via Firebase when you interact with social features; and through any feedback you choose to provide.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to run and improve the service (analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, plan new features), personalize your experience (remember preferences, suggest content or friends), communicate with you (send updates, security alerts, support responses), and ensure safety and compliance (detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, comply with laws).
5. Analytics, Storage & Third-Party Services
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and feature engagement (data is aggregated and anonymized) and Firebase to power social interactions and data storage. In the future, we may work with advertising partners; any such partners will be carefully vetted and subject to strict data-use controls, and you will be able to opt out of interest-based ads via app settings or a link we provide.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data indefinitely to support features like history, social content, and diagnostics. If we ever implement automated purge or archival policies, we’ll update this section and notify you here. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by sending a message through the in-app feedback form; we’ll respond within 45 days.
7. Your Rights (California Privacy)
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA: the right to know what personal data we hold, the right to delete it (with certain exceptions), the right to opt out of data sharing for behavioral advertising, and the right to non-discrimination if you exercise these rights. To submit a request, use the in-app feedback form—no proof of identity beyond your account login is required.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our app is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 17; if we learn we have, we will delete it promptly upon request.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, secure data storage, access controls) to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure—please use your device’s security features to stay safe.
10. International Use
We currently do not offer our service in the European Union. If we expand to EU countries in the future, we will update this policy to comply with GDPR requirements.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use after changes means you accept the new policy.
12. Contact Us
For questions or requests about your privacy, please reach out via the in-app feedback form. We aim to reply within three business days.
